More Pop Songs Featured in New ‘Sing’ Trailer!

By Flora  /  08 Jul 2016 (Friday)

2016 seems like a good year for animals-related animation films like ‘Disney's Zootopia’, ‘The Angry Birds Movie’, ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’, the recent ‘Disney/Pixar’s Finding Dory’, and the upcoming ‘The Secret Life of Pets’. At the end of the year, Illumination Entertainment, the creators of beloved hits like Despicable Me and Minions will be presenting ‘Sing’, an American-idol style musical comedy that stars voices from Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly.

Owner of a failing theater, Buster Moon the Koala (voiced by Matthew McConaughey) is optimistic that his self-produced world’s greatest singing competition will be able to restore the theater to its former glory. Contestants for this competition come from all walks of life - including a confident mouse (Seth MacFarlane), a timid teenage elephant (Tori Kelly) with a superb voice, an overworked mother to 25 piglets (Reese Witherspoon), a young gangster gorilla (Taron Egerton), and a punk-rock porcupine (Scarlett Johansson).

Featuring more than 85 hit songs, Sing is written and directed by Garth Jennings (Son of Rambow, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) and produced by Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy. Get ready to groove to pop hits such as Katy Perry’s “Firework,” Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” and Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda”.

Sing opens InCinemas 22 December 2016!
