More Star Wars news! The Mandalorian debuts official trailer

By Say Peng  /  29 Oct 2019 (Tuesday)

Star Wars fans, fret not.

The Rise of Skywalker may be the final film of the 9-part Skywalker saga, but Disney is definitely not finished with Star Wars.

Introducing... the official trailer of The Mandalorian.

Taking place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian follows the adventures of an independent Mandalorian bounty hunter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Narcos' Pedro Pascal plays the titular character.

Former MMA fighter Gina Carano plays Cara Dune, a former Rebel Shock Trooper-turned-mercenary who fought in the civil war for the Rebel Alliance.

Also starring are Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Taika Waititi, Bill Burr, and of course, the inimitable Werner Herzog.

There will be 8 episodes in total and they are directed by some well-known names such as Taika Waititi, actress Bryce Dallas Howard (Ron Howard's daughter), and Dave Filoni, who directed the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The show is run and created by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, who also serves as head writer.

With such a starry line-up of creatives (and the trailer looks amazing), we are expecting nothing less than great from The Mandalorian.

Disney+ will launch on 12 November next month and The Mandalorian will be available to watch.
