And Jack Neo's Ah Boys To Men, having to released in the groundbreaking Dolby® Atmos™ format, will be the first Asian movie to showcase the cutting edge technology on the widest cinema screen in Asia at 22.4 metres, accompanied by a crystal-clear 2K digital projection. Hit the jump for more!

In the press conference held yesterday at Food Republic, level 3 VivoCity, Jack shared his delight of having the new cinematic audio in his upcoming movie.

"I have always held high regards for the dolby sound system. You know it's good to have Dolby® 5.1 and even better to have Dolby® 7.1," said Jack Neo. "In Asia, we're the first country to have Dolby® Atmos™. They happen to know that we have a war sequence in Ah Boys To Men and it'll be interesting to have this combination."

It was also mentioned that the previous sounds system mainly carries the sound from the left and the right but with Dolby® Atmos™, it can come directly from above so airplanes tearing through the sky can be heard at the top while explosions can be 'felt' at the front and back as well.

Also present in the press conference is Mr Mahesh Sundaram, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Dolby Laboratories. Expressing his pleasure to work with GV, Mr Mahesh also took the opportunity to explain what Atmos can do.

"Dolby® Atmos™ is a new format that was announced 9 months ago. It basically gives the creator, like Jack and his team, the ability to put sounds anywhere in the theatre, wherever they want in the atmosphere of the theatre.  For consumers, it creates the best possible immersive experience, that they can possibly have today." said Mr Mahesh.
