You can Now Pay for Your Movie Tickets at Shaw Theatres with Google Pay

By Flora  /  12 Aug 2020 (Wednesday)
Yay to a faster and more convenient option for moviegoers like you and I!

Shaw Theatres is the first cinema chain in Singapore to offer Google Pay service to moviegoers. This means you can now book and pay for your movie ticket purchases directly from the Google Pay app from the convenience of your homes or any location.

From 13 to 31 August 2020, the convenience fee of $1.50 per transaction will also be waived!

This partnership comes against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, whereby seamless contactless transactions seem to be the preferred mode of payment.

“As part of our commitment to offer our patrons the best movie-going experience on all fronts, we are excited to be partnering with Google and be the first to bring Google Pay to the movies! Not only are we able to offer our guests a fast and convenient transaction process, Google Pay offers our patrons another contactless payment option and thus greater peace of mind. And we look forward to further develop this partnership with Google.” – Mr. Mark Shaw, Director of Shaw Organisation Group of Companies.

"Singaporeans love going to the movies and we are excited to build a piece of that experience into the new Google Pay Singapore app to make digital payments more helpful. Having Shaw Theatres join us in our journey to create a secure and seamless mobile payment platform is invaluable as it helps to enhance the existing lifestyle features for Singaporeans.” – Mr. Mahesh Bhalerao, Director of Next Billion Users and APAC Payments Ecosystem Partnerships at Google.

Reminder: from now till 31st August 2020, the convenience fee of $1.50 per transaction will be waived (terms and conditions apply), so don’t miss out of the good promotional deal!
