The New Mutants released its opening scene online!

The movie that has been living in release date hell is here to stay! Subject to change that may occur due to the pandemic that's taking over the world now, of course.
Despite The Walt Disney Studios making a handful of major release date changes this past week, The New Mutants is still scheduled for release on August 28 (Singapore opening date: Aug 27).
The New Mutants release is a long time coming as the project saw multiple delays on its road to opening in cinemas. 20th Century Fox originally planned to release the film in April 2018 but moved the project back to February 2019. Fox was juggling Dark Phoenix and New Mutants at the time, so the studio pushed the latter film to August 2019 to space out their comic book properties. Then the Disney-Fox merger happened, which resulted in New Mutants getting delayed to April 2020. That is until the coronavirus came along, which suspended the film’s release until August 28.
Now the film is closer to finally being released. Here's the opening scene that premiered during the New Mutants Comic-Con @ Home panel:
The New Mutants is directed by Josh Boone whose last directing credit was for the hit film The Fault in Our Stars. Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), Anya Taylor-Joy (Emma), Alice Braga, Blu Hunt and Henry Zaga star.
The film is scheduled for release in cinemas August 27.
