Uniqlo Set To Release More Anime Related Collections

By Chen Shun  /  15 Apr 2020 (Wednesday)

Are you an anime enthusiast? If you are, you will be delighted to know that Uniqlo is set to release two more anime-themed collections for their UNIQLO Tee-Shirt(UTs). The two collections that will be released are the fan favourite Pokemon and ever-popular Evangelion.

UNIQLO Will Be Launching A Daniel Arsham x Pokémon UT Collection Online

UNIQLO, the Japanese global apparel retailer, announced that it will launch the Daniel Arsham x Pokémon UT Collection online for you to shop in the comfort of your own home. The designs by Daniel Arsham will offer an array of authentic pop culture from around the world that allow the wearer to express themselves.

As an art collaboration between Daniel Arsham and Uniqlo, UT designs will be featuring the artist’s drawing of iconic Pokémon. Daniel’s unique sculpture on the UTs will be an interesting interpretation of the Japanese animation as it is not the cute image we are used to. Daniel commented on this project by saying:

“With many of my projects, I try to make work that’s not just for art people and I think UNIQLO has a similar egalitarian culture. The reason I feature iconic characters in my work is that they are very recognisable and on the surface, they make it easy to enter my work. Pokémon has been a monumental presence ever since I was a child and I’m excited about the opportunity to present my work to a much wider audience.”

The Collection offers seven design that will vary among men, women and kids. Compared to the colourful Pokémon shirt, Daniel’s design will be taking a monochromatic design that features crystallised sketches of such emblematic Pokémon as Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Jigglypuff. The delicate lines of Daniel’s sketches are well translated onto the T-shirts as ‘wearable art’.

UNIQLO Will Be Launching A Evangelion UT Collection Online On June 08 To Celebrate The Long-Awaited Cinema Release of Evangelion 3.0+1.0

UNIQLO announced that it will introduce a new Evangelion UT collection, starting on Monday, June 08. The UTs offers an array of authentic pop culture and art graphics from around the world that express the individuality of their wearers. The new offerings highlight Evangelion: 3.0+1.0, a Japanese animated science fiction motion picture that is scheduled for a premier release in Japan in June this year. This will be the final film in the Rebuild of Evangelion series.

This new adults UT collection presents illustrations of important visuals that the animation studio created exclusively for UNIQLO, as well as key stills from the film. Designs feature numerous delightful touches for fans of the series. One, for instance, depicts a scene of a conversation with an operator during a fortress sortie. The pocket of another UT design shows 4:58:50 to indicate the time left for Evangelion’s to act in the movie after the power is disconnected. There are also designs with special sketches for the film. Do keep a lookout if you want to satisfy your curiosity before the release of the film!
