The National Youth Film Awards is back for its 4th edition with a brand new "Open Youth Category" for young talents with a passion and knack for filmmaking. Having received over 700 submissions since its inception in 2015 for its Media Student Category, this will be open to all youths between the age of 15-35 years old, regardless if they have any formal media training or not.

A jury panel consisting of renowned names in the local media industry will assess the award submissions across 26 award categories, including Best Sound, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Direction, and Best Picture. NYFA offers a path towards a professional career in film, recognising youths who are highly skilled in their respective fields across the spectrum of the industry and celebrates excellence in filmmaking in Singapore.

Prizes don't only include cash prizes starting at S$1000 and up, but also include selected professional film courses worth S$15,000, professional equipment such as the Ursa Mini Pro worth more than S$8,000, fast-track access to film grant applications and opportunities to work with film professionals. Winners will also get the opportunity to get their films distributed across the region. The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on 28 July 2018.

Submissions are open from now till 18 May 2018. Visit our website for more information.
