DC Super Heroes Cafe opens second outlet at Takashimaya!

By Edric  /  26 Jan 2018 (Friday)

Since its launch in 2015, DC Super Heroes Cafe remains a top dining destination for both fans of DC Comics and dining patrons who want a different experience. It is ranked by TripAdvisor as one of the top 36 restaurants in Singapore.

Now, 2 years on, the cafe is ready to increase its strength as it opens the second superhero-themed outlet on the island.

Located at Singapore’s retail heart and Asia’s famous shopping district, DC Super Hero Cafe's second outlet in Takashimaya is set up to cater to Singaporeans as well as the growing base of tourists from neighboring Asian countries. While still committed to providing a fully immersive DC Comics universe experience at DC Super Heroes Cafe, the outlet at Takashimaya will feature an extended menu to cater to larger family groups and younger patrons from popular hangout spots along Orchard Road.

At the same time, the management at DC Super Heroes Cafe is positive that the cafe's first outlet in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands will continue to receive tourists from all across the globe who are visiting the iconic integrated resort.

Diners will encounter the complete DC Comics universe experience from the moment they enter through the massive 3.8m-tall Justice League doors to the outlet. From larger-than-life logos of the Justice League members to exciting plots on the comic strip lights all around the cafe, there is much to discover at the cafe as diners fuel up on their favourite superhero meals.

InCinemas had a chance to sample eight of their dishes. Here are some of our favourites.

Aquaman’s Trident Catch: Charcoal grilled Trio Combo ($38)
Suitable for 2-3 sharing (Exclusive to Takashimaya outlet)
Assortment of charcoal grilled delicacies including live tiger prawns, chicken teriyaki, mushrooms and capsicum on skewers

Harley Quinn’s So Delish! Iberico Pork Ribs ($30)

Grilled Iberico pork ribs, served with homemade beetroot fries, fruits & vegetable salad and mashed butternut

Hot Crustacean Treasure Bag AKA You Can’t Savor This Alone ($59)
Made with live, fresh seafood. Sharing for 2-3 persons. (Exclusive to Takashimaya outlet)
An assortment of fresh seafood including tiger prawns, clams, flower crabs, and mussels. Cooked with garlic, ginger and fresh herbs.

King of Atlantis Crab Leg Aglio Olio ($26.90)
Our new signature pasta (Exclusive to Takashimaya outlet only)
Linguine tossed with olive oil, garlic chips, chili flakes and parmigiano reggiano cheese, topped with ikura and onsen egg

I must admit that the quality of the food was surprisingly good. One does not usually expect such themed cafe to have quality food. Other than the somewhat prohibitive prices, there is nothing to complain about. The ambiance and store design are great, even down to the details of the menu, which reads almost like a comic book. Two television sets hanging above broadcast the old Wonderwoman TV series and the modern DC adaptations currently screening on Netflix. Watching over the cafe are life-sized models of Batman and Superman.

It's a great dining and hangout place for DC superhero fans. And even if you are not a fan of DC comics and superheroes, this is a restaurant worth checking out.

For a limited time only, the café will be offering a 50-percent discount for all pizzas and light bites on the menu. Also, all cakes and drinks are going at a 1-for-1. The promotion is only applicable on weekdays, (Mondays to Fridays, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm) excluding eve of Public Holiday and Public Holidays.
