Fans Brave Sweltering Heat to Meet “Goblin” actor Lee Dong Wook.

By Flora  /  15 Apr 2017 (Saturday)

Korean actor Lee Dong Wook, best known as the ‘Grim Reaper’ from the hit drama series “Goblin” is in Singapore to meet with his Singapore fans. Apart from a fan meet later this evening, Lee attended an afternoon open press conference held at the centre stage at Plaza Singapura’s outdoor atrium.

Despite the humid and jungle-like weather, as many as a few hundred fans have gathered under the hot sun as early as 10am to catch a glimpse of their Korean ‘oppa’ (big brother in Korean). Lee only took the stage at about 1pm, where he thanked the fans who endured the weather to meet him.

“I know the weather is very hot today, and so I am very grateful for you taking time out to meet me,” said the 35-year-old actor.

This marks Lee’s 2nd trip to Singapore after 6 years. However, he revealed that he didn’t manage to explore the city on both trips, nor was he able to taste the local delicacies due to his tight schedule. “I usually have my meals at the hotel, but I’m sure I’ll be able to try something after the fan meet tonight!”

In ‘Goblin’, Lee plays the grim reaper who has the super power erase someone’s memory by staring into their eyes. When asked if he could possess a supernatural power, Lee cited “teleportation”, explaining that “It’s to save time or beat the traffic”.

“If I were to travel to Singapore from Korea, I can be there instantaneously,” he added.

Lee shared that for his first fan meet in Singapore, he prepared segments where he can interact with his fans. “For every fan meet, I just hope that my fans will have a great time. I put in all my effort into this, so even if I get a bit tired, I just want to make sure that my fans have a merry time there!”

Those who are looking to get their Lee Dong Wook fix can expect a re-run of ‘Hotel King’ in Singapore on Oh!K (StarHub TV Channel 816), from Sunday, April 23rd onwards.
