Margot Robbie Set to Headline ‘Marian’, an Alternate Robin Hood Tale.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 26-year old actress has signed on to play the lead role of Maid Marian in a new film, ‘Marian’ that takes a revisionist look at the Robin Hood folklore.
The film will take place after the death of her lover Robin Hood, with Maid Marian deciding to carry on her lover’s work by leading her people into war.
Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn in Gotham City Sirens, a film that unites the various female DC villains; followed by thriller ‘Terminal’ directed by Vaughn Stein; and the ‘I,Tonya’, biopic on former figure skater Tonya Harding which is currently in production.

This ‘Marian’ movie is not to be confused with the other Robin Hood-related movie in the works starring Taron Egerton in the titular role, with Jamie Dornan, Jamie Foxx and Ben Mendelsohn co-starring. The film is set to be released next year.
