Disney Dominates Annie Awards

Disney is dominating the Annie Awards this year, as ‘Zootopia’ scores 6 awards in the 44th Annie Awards, an American award for accomplishments in animation. It snatches the top prize of ‘Best Animated Feature’, following its win at the Golden Globes. The film seems to be on track for its predicted Oscar win later this month.
While it is is not as impressive as the 10-award victory of ‘Inside Out’ last year, Disney’s wins are spread across more films this year. ‘Moana’ won 2 awards, including a tie with ‘Zootopia’ in the voice acting category. Pixar’s animated short ‘Piper’, which accompanied ‘Finding Dory’, receives an award as well. ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘Doctor Strange’ won awards in character animation and animated effects in live-action productions, respectively.
Disney should be wary of Laika, whose stop-motion feature ‘Kubo and the Two Strings’ scores 3 awards.
